Dale A. Stringfellow, Ph.D. Joins Acologixs
Board of Directors
Emeryville, CA-May 27, 2004 Acologix, Inc., a privately
held biopharmaceutical company, today announced the addition of
a key member to its team. Dr. Dale A. Stringfellow has joined Acologix's
Board of Directors. "We are very pleased to have Dr. Stringfellow,
who brings over 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry,
to the Acologixs Board of Directors," said Mr. Yoshi
Kumagai, President and CEO of Acologix. "Throughout his career,
Dr. Stringfellow has held top management positions and managed a
wide array of products at leading pharmaceutical and biotech companies
in the U.S. We are confident his expertise in research and development
will strengthen Acologix's ability to move its drug candidates through
clinical trials toward market approval."
Dr. Stringfellow most recently served as President and CEO of Berlex,
the U.S. pharmaceutical division of Schering AG, Germany from 2000
to April 2003, where he oversaw the introduction of six significant
new products to the market for Berlex during his tenure. From 1995
to 2000, Dr. Stringfellow was President of Berlex Biosciences which
is responsible for all of Schering's research and development in
the U.S. From July 1990 until April 1995, he was President, CEO
and a Director of Celtrix Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Stringfellow has
also held other senior positions including: Vice President and Senior
Director of Preclinical Cancer Research at Bristol-Myers Company;
Research Head, Cancer Virology and Cellular Biology Research at
Upjohn Company; and Vice President, Research and Development at
Collagen Corporation.
Dr. Stringfellow currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Myriad
Genetics, Inc.
Dr. Stringfellow received a B.S. and a Ph.D. in Microbiology from
the University of Utah.
