Sarbani Bhaduri, M.D., Joins Acologix as Vice President, Medical Affairs
Hayward, CA – September 12, 2005 – Acologix, Inc. a
privately held biopharmaceutical company, today announced the appointment
of Sarbani Bhaduri, M.D. as its Vice President of Medical Affairs.
As a board certified nephrologist and with her experiences in early
to late stage clinical development, Dr. Bhaduri brings substantial
expertise in therapeutic product development for osteo-renal diseases.
Prior to joining Acologix, Dr. Bhaduri was the Nephrology Franchise
Associate Medical Director for Ortho Biotech, a subsidiary company
of Johnson and Johnson. At Ortho Biotech, Dr. Bhaduri was responsible
for Phase II, III, and IV clinical development using Epoetin alfa.
Dr. Bhaduri was part of the leadership team on the Phase I and II
clinical research investigating BMP-7, a bone morphogenetic protein
which may be useful in the prevention of kidney fibrosis.
Prior to joining Ortho Biotech, Dr. Bhaduri served as the Division
Head of Nephrology and Medical Director of Kidney/Pancreas Transplantation
at Scripps Clinic and Research Institute. Prior to joining Scripps,
Dr. Bhaduri was an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at the
University of California San Francisco and Davis for a total of
five years. Dr. Bhaduri received her B.S. from University of Texas
at El Paso and her M.D. at Texas Tech University, School of Medicine.
Dr. Bhaduri has also published numerous papers in the field of
anemia associated with chronic kidney disease, and kidney transplantation
as related to transplant sensitization and tolerance.
