AC-200
AC-200 is the most symbolic osteo-renal program at Acologix. The compound has the potential to broadly benefit both bone and kidneys. AC-200 is a large protein molecule primarily produced by human hard tissue cells and exerts its effects on both hard tissues and kidneys. AC-200 was initially cloned as a candidate for Phosphatonin, an endogenous hormone which regulates phosphate (PO4) metabolism. Acologix has confirmed following activities from preclinical studies evaluating the effects of AC-200 in CKD models as well as other models.
Acologix is attempting to optimize the dosing regimen of AC-200 to maximize the above activities to advance the program into clinical development. AC-200 could be the first therapeutic which would address most of the key conditions associated with CKD patients—renal osteodystrophy, hyperphosphatemia, and hyperparathyroidism.
